Mighty Badge Survey Reveals How Consumers Purchase

Date posted: October 31, 2016

NEW YORK, NY – To determine how consumers shop for office products, The Mighty Badge, small business, do-it-yourself, name badge division of Imprint Plus, sponsored a nationwide random survey of 1,000 men and women across the U.S. conducted by 72Point.

According to the survey, one third (33.6%) shop for office supplies and products at least once a month, with 43.7% shopping once every six months or less.  When asked where consumers purchase office products most often, the number one answer was the discount store at 51%, following by the office products store at 35%.

Within the office products category, an overwhelming number of consumers (87%) purchased stationary products, such as pens, paper, envelopes, notebooks, staplers, binders, and labels.  The next most purchased category was school supplies at 44.3%, following by electronics at 33.5%, janitorial supplies at 21%, and office furniture at 20%.  Products outside of the office products category, such as batteries/shipping materials, picture frames, labels, etc. accounted for 37.5% of the purchases. Nearly a third of those surveyed felt it was important that the office products store offered additional products for sale, such as bottled water, juice, smacks and light bulbs, among others.

“It is interesting to note that the majority of the consumers surveyed (63%) stated that it was important to see office products and speak with a sales representative at the point of purchase,” says Kristin MacMillan, President of Imprint Plus, maker of The Mighty Badge.  “From prior surveys, we know by professionally identifying sales associates by name, title and area of expertise promotes better customer relations and service, as well as contributes to repeat business.  A name badge is like a hand-shake and engages the customer.”

The study went on to reveal that 81% of those surveyed, tend to buy environmentally-friendly products or ones that can be recycled for reuse.  Nearly 95% of office products are purchased for the home with 31% purchased for business use and 22% for school.  Among those products that should be seen “in person” prior to making a purchase, respondents  named mobile devices (76%), office equipment (70%), and office furniture (66%).

Imprint Plus manufactures an assortment of reusable employee identity systems that range from customized company name badge and signage systems for large numbers of employees; to The Mighty Badge Kit, perfect for the small to mid-size businesses with 10-50 employees; to YouWho name badges in two- and four-unit kits, starting at $25.

A Name Badge For All Seasons And Reasons

Date posted: March 30, 2016

–Imprint Plus Offers Reusable Name Badges and Signage For Temporary and Seasonal Employees–

According to the American Staffing Association (ASA), employment of temporary and contract workers rose in 2015. This resulted in an average of 3.3 million temporary and contract workers employed by staffing companies per week, for a rise of 2.6% of temporary workers hired weekly from 2014. The total number of temporary and contract workers was 15.9 million in 2015, the highest number since 2000. The ASA predicts that staffing will continue to grow with 5.4 million job openings in the U.S. at companies searching for workers who seek flexible, temporary or permanent positions.

Imprint Plus makes it possible to create reusable, customized, and professional-looking metallic name badges on-site with the use of a laser or inkjet printer to easily identify temporary, seasonal or contract employees on an as-needed basis. Because the systems are reusable, no new ordering or waiting for printing is required. A quality name badge stating name, title and company is a personalized introduction or ‘hand-shake’ to the customer, one that clearly establishes a pathway to developing better customer relations, as well as generating more sales and frequent visits.

“Our cost effective, do-it-yourself name badge and signage system means that you can create customized, reusable name badges and signage without paying costly fees or waiting days to receive them,” says Kristin MacMillan, President of Imprint Plus.

“It is important that seasonal or temporary workers are professionally identified and branded in the workplace and not look like an add-on to the permanent work staff,” continues Ms. MacMillan. “Rather than sticking on a plain paper label or pinning on a plastic name tag, employers are choosing sleek, impressive-looking metallic name badges that showcase the wearer professionally, and magnetically stay in place without falling off or damaging clothing. As a bonus, their reusable and recyclable components make them an ecofriendly solution.”

It’s important that we celebrate and champion the achievements of female entrepreneurs, especially in Canada. Women still earn 24% less than men, while occupying just 16% of the seats on corporate boards ( If these inequities are ever to be corrected, then up-and-coming female entrepreneurs need to hear from their role models and their success stories. Top 5 Patriotic Must-Go-To Destinations

Date posted: June 27, 2014

Independence Day

Celebrate the fourth of July with fireworks, barbecues, and parades – there are many destinations that you can go to for your ultimate patriotic getaway. If you are looking to be adventurous, here are a few recommendations to get you going on Independence Day.

1. Statue of Liberty, New York, New York

Lady Liberty embodies an incredible view of the harbor, an icon built to symbolize the country’s promise of freedom and democracy. Be sure to climb up to the crown of Lady Liberty and enjoy the grand beauty of the Ellis Island, the view is spectacular! If you’re a traveler, make sure not to miss the panoramic views of New York City…Get your camera ready!

2. The National Archives Building and the National Mall, Washington, D.C.

This is home to the most important documents in American history, including the original Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights. If you are planning to head to this destination, be sure to stay for the fireworks (save your spot at the Reflecting Pool, National Mall…because it will be crowded). Many families also choose to see the lights between the Capitol and the Washington Monument. Another hot spot, perfect for taking photos is the Lincoln Memorial, a monument honoring the 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.

3. Mount Rushmore National Memorial, Keystone, South Dakota

The iconic images of Mount Rushmore is a massive, 1,275-acre, 60-foot, carved granite masterpiece…check out the engraved faces of George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln – it will blow you away. The faces carved into the Black Hills represent 130 years of presidential history, be sure to check it out when you’re walking the Presidential Trail.

Did you know that the carving of this mountain started in 1925? Originally it was meant to show off its four subjects from head to waist, but …insufficient funding resulted in the work being halted at the neck – this is one thing that should be one everyone’s “must see” list.

4. Gettysburg National Military Park, Gettysburg, Pennsylvania

This is where Lincoln gave his famous Gettysburg Address in November 1863, four months after the battle of Gettysburg. To this date, it is still the perfect place to go commemorate the anniversary of this historical event. Be sure to take in all the majesty and historical importance of this pivotal location in the forming of America, and take tons of photos!

5.  Liberty Bell Center, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania
Does this location ring a bell? Many Americans recognize the Liberty Bell as a famous and iconic symbol of American independence. The Liberty Bell Center is next to the former Pennsylvania state house which is now called Independence Hall – where both the Declaration of Independence and the U.S Constitution were signed.

So you’re now ready to shake up this holiday with a list of places to go.
But wait, now that you have an idea where you’re heading for the celebrations, do you have your patriotic wardrobe ready? Why not get dressed up for the event?
